Great eBook that every entrepreneur should read it. I’ve just started a new business and now, after I read this book, I know what I have to do to promote my business on Twitter and how to engage with my customers.
Really enjoyed this articles, as a blogger and freelance social media strategist I find this incredibly inspiring. I personally follow and enjoy many of those you mention on this list. Grazie for sharing!

I have personally branded myself for the past five years and I have to say I believe I have done a very good job of it because people know me as the FOOD GIRL. The girl who loves SALMON more than sleep – hahaha!
I seriously needed this BIG time. I need a cheat sheet when it comes to social media. Social media is tricky.
Some extremely valid information and associated tips there for anyone unsure about the role of social media for their circumstances. I tend to agree that many people do not understand or appreciate the importance of branding to establish and build your identity and values with your readers, followers and clients. Social media really has such an important role to assist here and your mention of products like hootsuite and buffer really help to manage your social media accounts effectively.
Wow very informative post.
What a great resource! Social media is so important for building a business!
Thanks for all the great insights – I know my blog is my brand but I’m so bad at self promotion and bombarded by social media. This lays it all. out in an easy to understand post
Yes. Yes. Yes. to personal branding on social media. SOOOO many people forget that!
Thank you for sharing with us! This is very valuable information.

Sounds like a great guide for beginners. Nice of you to give away. Ree love30
Some excellent points here that recognise the increasing trend for people not to read these days and how best to present yourself in an attractive, practical and credible way. It is so important to keep up with the changing expectations of the market you are appealing to. Therefore if you are to be competitive, you must be open, dynamic and flexible – changing in line with the needs and wants of your clients over time.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment Nicole. You’re absolutely right – business is constantly changing, so is content and content marketing. Regardless of the exact strategy used, I think people who can adapt will do best.
Social media can be so tiring to manage and maintain while trying to provide value to the readers. I started using buffer but stopped, I guess I should just get back into it.
These tips are so valuable and useful because I am currently in the process of driving more traffic to my blog. There is still so much to learn and put in action.
Thank you thank you thank you for this post. it really helped me understand a little better ty so much
Wonderful post. it took me quiet some time to understand all these aspects of social media. Thanks for compiling it to help others
Interesting article Sushmita. Yes, I am on the networks (like everyone else).
And as you mentioned earlier, I prefer to focus on building up a strong presence on one primary medium (twitter), then branch out from there. Thus far, I have to tell you that I have been very pleased with my results. Yes, they definitely could improve, but that will come in time – I hope.
That’s how I attack it.
Some great points here and a few new things I’ve learned like the difference between owned, rented and occupied properties! I too believe you should focus on the platforms that drive the most traffic to your blog rather than trying to spread yourself to thinly!
This is a great resource especially if you’re new to blogging. Actually I’ve been thinking about rebranding lately.
This is really ultimate one. Thanks for sharing
These are great tips and confirmation that I am doing the right thing on SM. There is always a lot of conflicting advice out there and different opinions – it’s tricky to navigate it all. I end up relying on my gut feel a lot so of course – I love it when I find articles that support my thinking.

Good to read your story

Thank you. I would love to
I would like to use the ability of thanking you for your prinfssooeal suggestions I’ve always enjoyed checking out your web page. I will be looking forward to the particular commencement of my school research and the whole preparation would never have been complete without coming over to this website. If I could be of any assistance to others, I’d personally be delighted to help via what I’ve found from here.
What are your thoughts about paid ads on Facebook? Do you think companies can work with just organic content for reach?
I think they need a good strategy to include both
Amen! Such truth. I discovered these fruit (love, joy, peace, patience and kindness)for myself when I put my faith in God and received Jesus as my saviour … it really works!…it is life changing!!!!
This is the right web site for everyone who hopes to find out about this topic. You understand so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really will need to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a subject that has been written about for many years. Excellent stuff, just excellent!
Inspiring story of how God works in amazing ways to draw us close to Him. Indeed He leads us in the paths He has already prepared for us.
God bless and keep you. Thanks, Tawachi.
Visual content is definitely the future! I noticed over the past few years that due to our creative and attractive content, we were getting many people interested in our product and also increased the number of followers… Seeing what our competitors were up to helped a lot as well as we could learn from it and fill the gap that’s missing on social media to satisfy people.
The other point I was going to make is about video marketing. I did some experiments last year and realised that engagement rate on Facebook had dropped from just posting nice pictures followed by a nice caption, once we I started creating some videos representing our company culture or what our product was about – the numbers of followers and engagement increased and so did the traffic to our site! I most definitely recommend videos ! Thanks for sharing this by the way, always a pleasure to exchange ideas and tips! Glad to see that we’re all in the same boat! Maura
Great to see your testimonies on using videos on Facebook. Check out this post written by a friend of mine who uses Facebook Live daily 🙂 https://carmenlascu.co.uk/2017/04/21/belive-tv-review/
Wow thanks for all the tips and list of influencers! I’ve been using Twitter and Instagram so far to find influential people – Was aware of KLOUT but never really used it! Had no idea there was a score method for each influencer! That might be very useful actually as to see if the influencer is worth the hassle! I’ve spent so much time observing influencer’s engagement, connecting with them on a daily basis as to win their trust and loyalty. It’s quite time consuming for little result! I agree it’s all about finding the right people for your product who will know how to market it! I’d love to learn more about influencer marketing, any more articles or tips from you Carmen? Thanks, Maura.
Great tips! I’ve learned to listen to our audience before creating content – Otherwise it goes to waste. Also what I think it’s great is actually ask our audience what they would like to see more on social – Like send out a survey, connect with them and get to know them. Feedback is always great and at least you know what they want to read etc. Maura.
Hi Carmen! Another great article shared! Thanks. People who are not familiar with Social Media think they can learn and do it over night. When I tell my friends about being a Social Media manager – they think it’s a joke as they don’t see value or think it’s just about posting pictures. They forget there’s so much to it, analytics, data, audience, influencers and creative campaigns etc. Anyway just wanted to share some of my experience, and over the years I’ve been told off many times for being myself on social media – tried to be professional and corporate until I realized that our audiences always felt more connected to the real me than to someone I pretended to be. We are all human, and it’s great for audiences to recognize that there’s a human behind every social media channel. Looking forward to some more of your content! Thanks. Maura.
Hi Carmen! I’m going through all your blog posts – really like them 🙂 Back to your post here, Ive done experiments with Facebook live for our social media channels – but never explored VR or chatbots. Read the other article on chatbots but I’d rather have a human being to communicate to our customers etc. Have you tried it yourself? I can imagine it takes a lot of your workload and availability for each customer is higher – just wondering how customers / followers react to it? How do they feel about a chatbots? Have you done a survey to get insights? I might actually try this out! Let me know. Thanks, Maura.
Hi Maura, The only chatbot I tried is Amazon’s Alexa and I love it 🙂 So much easier to look for info and great to receive recommendations of what you may like based on your previous choices. She was spot on so far. I am sure in a couple of years we will see more and more.
Loving the fact that people like their own Facebook posts 😀 That just made my day! Just a question on abandoning your social accounts – What If we noticed that there’s no engagement or that most of our loyal followers / customers are on one channel already? I think it’s quite hard to get attraction through Facebook – we’re a marketing agency and noticed a lack in engagement when sharing industry related articles or blog posts. Only behind the scenes pictures seem to get engagement. Any tips? Thanks
Hello. What a beautiful testimony! Since you are in England, I wanted to refer you to Aliss Cresswell who lives with her husband in Chester. They have a bed and breakfast there and a beautiful ministry of healing and honoring the Lord Jesus. She prayed for 12 years for the Lord to use her in healing. Her testimony is inspiring. She’s written 3 very inspirational books about their life with the trials, and growth in ministry. They have teaching sessions there. If you want to check them out: https://spiritlifestyle.com Blessings in Christ
Thank you 🙂
This thing is expensive and you can only buy it as a subscription, not a one time purchase. I don’t use Adobe products for the same reason. It’s a stupid model.
Hi Bill, Thank you for your comment. This was a guest post and the author likes BeLive.Tv. She is using and is happy with it. I checked their website and you can use it for free for up to 16 broadcasts per month. I know the features are limited but if you want more out of it you pay more. On the other hand, this business model works and there are many membership websites that provide various products or services for a monthly subscription. I personally like this model but again it’s my personal opinion like yours is your personal opinion. I wouldn’t call it stupid though…
Great post but I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic? I’d be very grateful if you could elaborate a little bit further. Thanks!
Wow this is very useful article, thanks for sharing with us your information.
I agree with David here that you should make the most of the content you have already! Content repurposing is a very effective way of getting more eyeballs on your website!
Great advice. This is what all the businesses should do. A blog post can easily be re-used for an infographic just to give an example.
